President William Ruto has dismissed threats to limit his presidency to a single term, calling them empty political rhetoric and reaffirming his commitment to delivering his transformation agenda.
“We will not succumb to the blackmail of one term. We know where we are going as a nation,” he said.
The President spoke on Saturday, August 9, while addressing over 15,000 youth at State House, Nairobi, during the Nairobi County Empowerment Programme.
“We are transforming our healthcare so that even ordinary citizens can go to the hospital in our SHA programme, and we will never succumb to your threat of one term, because we know where we are going as a nation,” Ruto added.
He pledged to transform agriculture, improve education, build an inclusive economy, and strengthen healthcare through the Social Health Authority programme.
Ruto accused his political rivals of lacking a concrete agenda for the country, maintaining that the broad-based government model remains the best approach for national development.
He further announced that beginning next month, young people across the country will have access to KSh 5 billion from the government’s empowerment initiatives.
