The Moja Expressway Company has announced a temporary traffic disruption on a section of the Nairobi Expressway due to an accident involving a Public Service Vehicle (PSV).
In a statement issued on Friday, November 29, the company confirmed that the accident occurred at the exit of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station, prompting the temporary closure of the Mlolongo and Syokimau entrance toll stations.
“Our team is currently on-site working to control traffic and ensure a safe commute for all motorists,” the company stated, adding, “Motorists are advised to drive within the recommended speed limit of 80 km/h and observe lane discipline.”
The company assured road users that measures were being taken to restore normal operations and emphasized its commitment to motorists’ safety.
The Nairobi Expressway has previously experienced temporary closures for other reasons, such as the Nairobi City Marathon. On September 7, the expressway was temporarily closed to accommodate the third edition of the marathon.
“Please note that the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed from Saturday, 7th September 2024 at 9:30 pm to pave the way for the 3rd edition of the Nairobi City Marathon,” Moja Expressway had stated at the time.
Moja Expressway Company continues to manage operations on the 27-km toll road, urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to safety regulations.
