This accident adds to a growing list of road crashes in 2025 that have resulted in fatalities and injuries.
Just last week, two people died, and several others were injured in a head-on collision along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway on Sunday, January 5. The collision occurred near the Prison Bridge in Naivasha between an Eldoret Shuttle Nissan matatu and a Nairobi-bound bus.
Road safety advocate Sikika Road Safety commented on the recurring issue of head-on collisions, stating, “Let’s have an open conversation this year. Is head-on collision avoidable?”
The organization emphasized the need for increased awareness and stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent further loss of lives.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially along dangerous sections of the highway, to reduce the number of road accidents.
