Thirdway Alliance party leader Dr. Ekuru Aukot has predicted that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will not be re-elected in the 2027 general elections. Aukot cited Sifuna’s leadership style, which he described as “chest-thumping,” as a major factor that could cost him voter support.
Speaking during a live interview on Thursday morning where the two politicians engaged in a heated debate, Aukot criticized Sifuna’s approach to politics, suggesting that his confidence and political stance may alienate Nairobi voters. “The people of Nairobi are tired of arrogance. They want a leader who listens and delivers, not one who is always making noise,” Aukot stated.
Sifuna, who is serving his first term as Nairobi Senator under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket, has been vocal on various political issues, often engaging in heated debates with opponents. His outspoken nature has earned him both praise and criticism within the political landscape.
While Aukot’s remarks have sparked varied reactions across the Nairobi political scene and from Sifuna’s followers who argue that his leadership has brought significant changes and that he remains a strong contender for the 2027 election.
As the political scene in Nairobi heats up, it remains to be seen whether Aukot’s prediction will come true or if Sifuna will secure another term.
