FKF Premier League side Shabana FC have announced they collected over one million shillings in revenue during their match against KCB.

The Glamour Boys hosted KCB last Sunday at the Gusii Stadium, taking full advantage of their home comfort to secure a 2-0 victory. Brian Michira broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, while Austin Odongo sealed the win in the 92nd minute.

Not only did Shabana walk away with three crucial points, but they also banked over a million shillings in gate collections.

“We collected a gross revenue of Kshs. 1,015,000. Asante Sana (Thank you) to all those who made it to Gusii Stadium for our match against KCB FC. It was great seeing the Stadium painted red and white,” the club said in a statement posted on their social media accounts.

This is not the first time Shabana has hit the million mark from matchday ticket sales. Since their return to top-flight football, the club has remained transparent about gate collections, a move that has earned the trust of fans and encouraged strong attendance at home games.

On the pitch, Shabana have been delivering solid performances, especially in recent home matches. The win over KCB marked their fifth victory of the season. The team has suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches and only two losses since parting ways with former head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo.

Under Peter Okidi’s guidance, Shabana is gradually turning Gusii Stadium into a fortress. The team remains unbeaten in their last five home matches, making it a tough ground for visiting sides.

However, there was a bittersweet moment for the Shabana faithful, as star forward Mathew Tegisi played his final match for the club. Tegisi is expected to complete a move to Tanzanian outfit Pamba Jiji.

Shabana are now fifth on the league table with 20 points as they prepare for their final fixture of the year on Saturday, December 21, against Mathare United.
