When he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secodary Education (KCSE) at the prestigious and national school. The Lenana School he managed a sub-optimal grade C that could not qualify him to join the University.
After discernment, Kindiki recoiled back to Meru District on the slopes of Munt Kenya to resit the exams, this time at Tharaka Boys where he managed a decent result enough to have him join the law school at Moi University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 1998. Two years later he graduated with a Master of Law degree in International Humanitarian Law and Democracy at University of Pretoria in South Africa.
“I can say that Prof Kindinki was a brilliant teacher and a good soul for he gave me my first job ever after graduation,” says George Nengo a lawyer and political advisor.
Determined to show the World and his parents that every dream is valid, the young Kindiki obtained a Doctorate in Law at Pretoria University and came back home to start teaching at the university of Nairobi and later went back to Moi University to head Department of Public Law.
It is no wonder that the man was calm even after missing on the appointment as the then Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto as a running mate in 2022 when it was apparent that many of his colleagues had preferred him to his main challenger Rigathi Gachagua.
With his inauguration tomorrow as the next Kenya’s Deputy President one can easily quite the Biblical verse of Mathew 21:4 that 52 years old Kindiki has become the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
Before President William Ruto appointed Kindiki as Cabinet Secretary for Interior in 2022, Mr Kindiki had been the Tharaka-Nithi Senator in 2013 and reflected in 2017.
