President William Ruto has for the first time responded to his critics including former impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over deviding the country. While speaking at Mandera Teachers training college on Tuesday 4th, the president assured Kenyans and his political followers that those who are after spreading division in the country will fail.
“I want to assure you that those who want to divide will fail and will fail miserably,” he said.
In a statement which seemed to be directed directly to his former assistant, William Ruto lamented that those who want to split the country in the basis of tribes, regions or source of livelihood have no agenda and have no plans for the country.
“Wanataka kutugawanya kwa misingi ya kikabila, sijui nani wa bara, pwani mlima ama nani ako na payslip (They want to divide us on the basis of who comes from the village, coast, mountain, the rift or who has a pay slip). They have no agenda or plan. They are leaderless and I want to promise you that they will not succeed in dividing our nation,” the president added.
William Ruto’s sentiments comes when Rigathi Gachagua continues to slam his administration over alleged mismanagement of public resources and high corruption levels. On the same day, Gachagua who was speaking in a live radio interview spilled the beans allegedly on how the formation of the ruling Kenya Kwanza government was based on self-interests.
The president will be touring the Northeastern region for the whole week where he is set to oversee the launch of various development projects and fight against terrorism which has continued to deny the area residents peace.
