Kenyan President William Ruto has extended his congratulations to Ghana’s President-elect John Mahama following his victory in the country’s recently concluded elections.
Ruto described Mahama’s win as a testament to the confidence the people of Ghana have in his leadership.
“Your Excellency and Dear Mr. President-Elect, on behalf of the Government and the People of Kenya and on my own behalf, I convey to Your Excellency and through you to the Government and the People of the Republic of Ghana my heartfelt congratulations on your successful election as the President of the Republic of Ghana,” Ruto stated.
He commended Ghana for showcasing its democratic maturity and institutional integrity during the election process, key factors he highlighted as critical to the country’s stability and development.
“Your Excellency, I must commend Ghana for the conduct of the just-ended elections, which clearly demonstrated your country’s democratic maturity and institutional integrity. Undoubtedly, your decisive victory in these historic elections is a clear affirmation of the trust and confidence the people of Ghana have in your leadership, vision, and dedication to advancing Ghana’s development and prosperity,” Ruto added.
As Mahama prepares to assume office, Ruto expressed optimism about strengthening the bond between Kenya and Ghana, emphasizing their shared history and commitment to regional cooperation and prosperity.
“Our nations share a deep-rooted friendship, founded on common struggles for self-determination and the desire for peaceful and prosperous nations. It is my desire to further enhance and consolidate this cooperation at bilateral, regional, and international levels in areas of mutual interest for the socio-economic development of our peoples and continent,” Ruto remarked.
President Ruto concluded by wishing Mahama good health, prosperity, and success in leading the people of Ghana.
