Police officers from the Unit of Transnational Organized Crime and Kitengela police station on Wednesday 5TH managed to free 58 adults of Ethiopian origin trapped inside a house located near a church called the House of Deliverance Center. During the operation, two Kenyans namely, Daniel Nduati Kingoo, and Peter Maina Kimemia, were picked up as suspects.
Residents of the area alerted the authorities because they suspected something was wrong going on at a maissonette. When the officers showed up, they found the victims in a feeble state, severely malnourished, and lacking any form of identification. The investigation revealed that they were kept locked inside for three days, waiting for a trip to South Africa that never happened as reported by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Later, the authorities relocated 28 men and women to Kitengela Police Station while the other half was moved to Isinya Police Station. The suspects are and were kept at Muthaiga Police Station. Also recovered at the scene and further investigations was the Honda motorcycle with a registration number KMGK 123T.
The human trafficking network that has become involved with this case is still under investigation.
