A tragic accident was on Thursday 6th reported at Chebewor area along the ever-busy Nakuru-Kericho highway few minutes past noon. In the crash that left scores of people injured, a lorry which was speeding from Nakuru lost its brakes, veered off the road before landing besides the road.
It has been reported that area residents who rushed to the scene were quick to help in the rescue mission since the occupants who were in the lorry including the driver were trapped in the wreckage. However, some locals who are notorious for stealing from accident victims are said to have engaged in trying to take the cargo in transit.
Road users plying the route have been urged to remain vigilant while on the road which has continued to record alarming rate of accidents.
Police and the local authorities are already at the scene of accident and are expected to release a detailed report later.
