Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has once again given Kenyans a glimpse into his luxurious lifestyle, this time by showcasing his opulent beachside residence in Kilifi County.
The sprawling Bofa Ocean View home, perched right along the Indian Ocean shoreline, reflects Atwoli’s well-known love for elegance and comfort. With over two decades at the helm of COTU, Atwoli has become a prominent national figure, both in labour circles and the political arena, and his taste in real estate mirrors his larger-than-life public persona.

“This week, I had the pleasure of hosting over thirty Members of Parliament at my residence in Bofa, Kilifi, as they visited the county for an economic empowerment mission,” Atwoli wrote on X (formerly Twitter), alongside images of the luncheon.

The coastal retreat, which Atwoli first unveiled publicly in November 2021 when he hosted ODM leader Raila Odinga, has become a popular venue for elite political gatherings. It has since played host to a string of top leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, and Kakamega Woman Rep Elsie Muhanda.
Atwoli’s flamboyant lifestyle is no secret. Often spotted in designer outfits and adorned with custom jewellery, the trade unionist is unapologetic about his taste for luxury. His Kilifi property adds to a growing list of high-end residences that include homes in Nakuru, Ildamat in Kajiado County, and a stately rural home in his native Kakamega.
