Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has announced that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is laying the groundwork to secure power in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in Rangwe on Wednesday, November 27, Wanga praised the party for its successful grassroots elections, describing them as a critical step toward building a vibrant and organized political movement.
“With these grassroots elections, ODM is preparing to capture power in 2027 because the purpose of any political party is to capture power. For us to achieve this, we must be organized and vibrant right from the grassroots,” she stated.
The governor highlighted ODM’s ability to conduct peaceful grassroots elections, noting that it sets the party apart from its competitors. She also emphasized ODM’s commitment to upholding the Constitution.
“ODM is the only party capable of conducting such elections. Other parties cannot achieve this. Even the Registrar of Political Parties acknowledged that ODM is fully compliant with the Constitution of Kenya,” Wanga added.
Her remarks come as ODM continues to position itself as a leading contender in the next electoral cycle, emphasizing its focus on grassroots organization and constitutional adherence.
