The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced a major recruitment drive targeting Technical Instructors and Lecturers, with the exercise scheduled for September 2025.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 19, the Service revealed that it is seeking to fill 181 vacancies across 29 specialised fields.

Applicants are required to complete the Application for Employment Form PSC.2 (Revised 2016) and submit it with a detailed CV, certified academic certificates, testimonials, and a copy of their national ID or passport in a sealed envelope. The envelope must be clearly marked with the job title and delivered to NYS offices by September 1, 2025.

Among the advertised positions, fields with a single vacancy each include Accounting, Farm Management, Entrepreneurship, Nutrition and Dietetics, Human Resource Management, and Sales and Marketing. Others such as Irrigation and Drainage Technology, Horticulture, Catering and Accommodation, and Carpentry and Joinery each have two openings.

The highest number of opportunities are in Automotive Engineering (22), Mechanical Engineering–Fabrication and Metallurgy (11), ICT (10), and Plumbing (9).

For Technical Instructors, successful applicants will earn between Ksh28,620 and Ksh37,100, alongside allowances and coverage under the Social Health Authority (SHA) medical plan.
