The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the arrest of the prime suspect linked to the shooting of 25-year-old Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim in Eastleigh.
In a statement dated Saturday, November 23, NPS identified the suspect as 27-year-old Paul Othiambo Owuodho, also known as Fazul Muhamed. The arrest was made during an early-morning operation led by officers acting on intelligence.
“Today, DCI officers, acting on intelligence, conducted an operation in Kiambiu slums and apprehended one Paul Othiambo Owuodho alias Fazul Muhamed,” the statement read in part.
The suspect is currently in police custody at Shauri Moyo Police Station, where investigations are being conducted by DCI Shauri Moyo. The case is pending before the court, according to the police.

Police have also connected the suspect to the murder of PC David Mayaka, a DCI officer, in August 2023. Mayaka was fatally shot by three men riding a motorcycle in Mihango, Kayole.
“The suspect is also linked to the murder of one police officer, namely PC David Mayaka of DCI Makadara, which occurred in Mihango Kayole area on August 23, 2023. The matter is currently before the court,” the statement added.
Details of the Eastleigh Shooting
The Eastleigh incident, captured on CCTV in early November, shows the suspect approaching Ibrahim, who was with a woman at the time.
The footage reveals the suspect firing a gun at close range, shooting Ibrahim near the neck, with the bullet exiting through the other side. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly took the victim’s mobile phone before fleeing.
Investigations into both cases are ongoing as the suspect remains in custody.
