Malava Member of Parliament (MP) Malulu Injendi has died.

In a statement on Monday, February 17, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula announced that Injendi passed away at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

“Hon. Members, it is with profound sadness that I inform you of the demise of our esteemed colleague, the Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, who left us this evening, 17th February 2025, at 5:15 p.m. at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. He was the Member for Malava Constituency and Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research,” Wetang’ula stated.

The Speaker described Injendi as a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents.

“Hon. Injendi was serving his third term as a Member of the House, having served continuously since 2013 (11th Parliament). He was a passionate representative who served his constituents with unwavering commitment and integrity. His tireless efforts and contribution to our legislative processes, particularly in the education sector and the sugar industry, aimed at improving the lives of Kenyan people will be deeply missed,” he added.

Before venturing into politics, Injendi had a distinguished career in academia. He served as a lecturer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa from 1996 to 2013 and held the position of Registrar at the same institution between 2001 and 2009.

He transitioned to politics in 2013 and had represented Malava Constituency in Parliament since then.

In December 2022, Injendi founded the Malulu Injendi Foundation, a non-governmental organization focused on empowering communities through initiatives in education and healthcare.

Further details on funeral arrangements are expected to be announced later.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
