LG Electronics East Africa, in collaboration with Opalnet Engineering Ltd, is set to revolutionize the regional air conditioning market with its latest range of eco-friendly products. The unveiling, which took place in Nairobi, brought together over 250 industry experts, including HVAC designers and consultants, to discuss the future of energy-efficient cooling solutions in East Africa.
LG East Africa President, Mr. Donghun Lee, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and customer satisfaction. “Our goal is to provide air conditioning solutions that not only enhance comfort but also contribute to environmental conservation through reduced energy consumption,” he said.
The event showcased LG’s cutting-edge cooling solutions, particularly highlighting the advanced ceiling-mounted cassette air conditioners. These units are designed to seamlessly integrate into ceiling spaces, offering a sleek aesthetic while delivering efficient cooling. Additionally, LG’s Split Air Conditioners, known for their fast-cooling capabilities and energy-saving features, were also displayed as part of the new product line-up.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Yeonguk Yun, LG East Africa Air Solutions Product Director, shared insights into future advancements. He revealed that by 2026, LG will introduce more advanced air conditioning units featuring artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. “With AI functionality, temperature control will be more intuitive, and users will have the ability to monitor energy consumption in real-time,” he explained.
Opalnet Engineering Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Brian Kitui, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with LG, noting that the collaboration would bring advanced cooling technology to the region. “Our focus is on energy-efficient and eco-friendly solutions that meet the diverse needs of consumers and businesses,” he stated.
The event also featured LG’s upcoming range of chillers, including scroll, screw, centrifugal, and absorption models. These are designed to cater to different building requirements while improving energy efficiency by at least 15% compared to existing solutions in the market.
LG’s Regional Commercial Air Conditioning Business Head, Mr. Erick Kiprono, elaborated on the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive heating and cooling solutions. He announced the introduction of innovative water heating systems tailored to meet varying application and temperature requirements. “These solutions will cater to specific customer needs, further positioning LG and Opalnet Engineering as market leaders in East Africa,” he said.
