Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise that will result in power outages across multiple regions in Kenya on Wednesday, November 27.
The affected areas will experience blackouts ranging from eight to nine hours.
Which areas will experience blackouts?
Power will be disrupted from 9am to 5pm in the following areas:
Kasarani: City Chicken Road, Mt. Laverna Primary and Secondary Schools, St. Francis Hospital, Part of Hunters Estate, Haco Industries, Muirigo Estate, and surrounding areas.
Kaloleni Jogoo Road: Kaloleni Social Hall, Njia Kuu Road, Kilimambogo Road, Kaloleni Estate, Kaloleni Primary School, and nearby neighbourhoods. Kajiado region Ngong Town and its surroundings will experience outages from 8am to 5pm. Affected areas include: Ngong Town, Scheme 305, Zambia, Olepolos, Kangawa, Juanco, Bulbul, Jogoo Road, Kerarapon, and adjacent locations.
Central Rift Region In Bomet and Narok counties.
Power disruptions are scheduled from 8am to 4.30pm, impacting: Sachora Market, Youth Farmers, Longisa Hospital, Longisa Market, Mulot Market, Kembu Market, Kapkimworwa Quarry, Olngoswet, Chemaner, Kimuchul, Greenfield Tea Factory, Kisyet Tea Factory, Kutete Market, Tegat Market, Ngito, Kipturgut Market, Olmenani, Laluk, and nearby areas. Western Region In Kakamega county, Iguhu Hospital, Khaega, Mahokho, and Shisesia will be without power from 9.30am to 5pm.
Mt. Kenya Region Power outages are expected from 9am to 5pm in: Ruirii, Kariguini, Marina Gas Plant, Mahiga Meru, Kiambogo, Kariki, Wangata, Mugunda, Nairutia, Kamiruri, and surrounding areas.
In Mathioya, disruptions from 9am to 4pm will affect: Wangombe Farm, Kiru Tea Factory, Kiambuthia, Kiangima, Gatunguru Tea Factory, Gacharageini, Mioro, Mereraini, Ruru Primary School, Kagongo, Kinguri Village, Kihoya, Gachugi, Nyagatugu Boys, Wanjerere, Thutu, Thangathi, Kirimahiga Coffee Factory, and adjacent areas.
Residents in the affected regions are advised to plan accordingly and ensure necessary arrangements to mitigate the impact of the outages
