Kenya will join other member states of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) today, Monday, December 9, 2024, to commemorate this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day.
The Day, observed annually, provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made, challenges faced, lessons learned, and reforms needed in the fight against corruption and other governance malpractices.
This year’s national event will be hosted at Strathmore University, with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) spearheading the commemoration. The EACC will work alongside stakeholders from the public and private sectors, civil society, and faith-based organizations to evaluate the country’s anti-corruption efforts over the past year.
The theme for 2024, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” highlights the critical role of young people in promoting integrity and combating corruption. The occasion provides a platform to engage and empower the youth as key agents of change in the fight against corruption.
