Part of the Southern bypass/COURTESY

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that the closure of the Southwestern loop connecting A8 (Waiyaki Way) to the Southern Bypass—at its intersection with the Western Bypass—will remain in effect until Monday, August 11, 2025.

The agency said the ongoing works involve the reconstruction of ramps, loops, and slip roads at the critical interchange.

As part of a traffic management plan, vehicles traveling from A8 toward the Southern Bypass are being redirected via the E1507 Kikuyu-Link Road at the Sigona Golf Club junction.

Motorists approaching from Nakuru and heading toward the Southern Bypass are advised to use the newly built Southeastern loop or an alternative temporary diversion along the Southern Bypass median.

For those traveling from the Western Bypass toward A8 (Waiyaki Way), KeNHA has directed them to use the Muguku Interchange, then proceed through the Kikuyu-Link Road to reconnect with A8 at the Sigona junction.

KeNHA Director General Kung’u Ndungu urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to posted traffic instructions.

“We advise all road users to follow the traffic management plan, observe project road signs, and cooperate with police and traffic marshals on site,” he said.
