KBL Reduces Prices for Chrome Gin, Vodka, and Two Other Spirits

Date:

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has announced a price reduction across its Mainstream Spirits (MSS) portfolio, offering Kenyans a more affordable way to enjoy its popular products during the upcoming festive season.

In a statement on Tuesday, KBL revealed that the new prices would apply to top-selling brands such as Chrome Gin, Chrome Vodka, Kane Extra, and Triple Ace Vodka. The move aims to make these high-quality spirits more accessible to consumers.

“We have taken this step to reduce prices of some of our products in alignment with the economic realities currently faced by our consumers,” stated Lilian Mbugua, Brand Manager in the MSS Portfolio.

“Our goal is to ensure that the quality we offer remains affordable, especially as families and friends come together to celebrate during the holidays,” she added.

New Prices for 750ml MSS Products:

  • Chrome Gin: Ksh700 (down from Ksh760)
  • Chrome Vodka: Ksh700 (down from Ksh740)
  • Kane Extra: Ksh680 (down from Ksh720)
  • Triple Ace Vodka: Ksh680 (down from Ksh690)

New Prices for 250ml Packs:

  • Chrome Gin: Ksh260 (down from Ksh290)
  • Chrome Vodka: Ksh260 (down from Ksh290)
  • Kane Extra: Ksh240 (down from Ksh260)
  • Triple Ace Vodka: Ksh240 (down from Ksh260)

The price adjustments aim to cater to all market segments while maintaining affordability and quality.

KBL also highlighted that the initiative supports brand activations such as Chrome’s ongoing Street Filosofia Honour the Streets campaign, which celebrates Kenya’s vibrant urban culture.

This price reduction comes as KBL, a subsidiary of East African Breweries Limited (EABL), continues to record strong financial performance. In its latest financial report, the company posted a 13% increase in net sales year-on-year for the 2023/24 financial year, amounting to Ksh124.1 billion. Spirits and beer remained key contributors, with spirits alone recording an 11% growth in net sales.

The reduced prices are expected to drive higher sales as Kenyans gear up for the Christmas and end-year festivities. Many are likely to flock to liquor stores and supermarkets to take advantage of the new, more affordable pricing.
