On Monday, President Ruto hosted the Retreat of the Extended Bureau on the Implementation of Institutional Reforms of the African Union at State House, Nairobi. The discussions focused on enhancing efficiency, financial independence, and responsiveness of the AU to better serve Africa’s development agenda.
On Tuesday, Held talks with UN Deputy Secretary- General Amina J. Mohammed in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, during the African Heads of State Energy Summit, reinforcing Kenya’s leadership in sustainable energy. He met Rockefeller Foundation President Rajiv Shah, exploring partnerships to expand Kenya’s school feeding project benefiting more vulnerable learners.
On Wednesday, Dr. Ruto made a State Visit to Cairo, Egypt where Kenya and Egypt signed a Joint Declaration for a Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership. They Signed 12 agreements covering trade, investment, education, research, and technology, unlocking vast opportunities for both nations. He later chaired a virtual Extra-Ordinary Summit of EAC Heads of State on the DRC situation, reinforcing Kenya’s commitment to regional stability.
On Thursday, he engaged Kenyans living in Egypt, reaffirming government support for the diaspora community. He also held meetings with business leaders from ElSewedy Electric and Orascom Construction, advancing discussions on investments in Kenya. He also visited New Capital Gardens City in Cairo, showcasing large-scale housing projects, aligning with Kenya’s Affordable Housing Program.
President Ruto closed the busy week on Friday with a SHA stakeholder engagement: Held consultative talks to align strategies for seamless membership registration and hospital digitization under SHA. Nationwide Roll-Out: Set to launch nationwide registration and digital integration in hospitals to enhance service delivery and achieve UHC.
