Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Tuesday, July 1, announced the release of the 2025 placement results by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The results apply to candidates who sat the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams and qualified for admission into universities, colleges, and other tertiary institutions across the country.
KUCCPS handles the placement process through a centralized government-managed system that ensures fair, merit-based distribution of students into various institutions of higher learning.
The process takes into account each candidate’s KCSE results, their selected courses and institutions, and the available capacity in each programme.
How to Check KUCCPS Placement Results
Candidates can access their placement results online through the KUCCPS student portal or by SMS.
Checking via KUCCPS Online Portal
- Visit the KUCCPS website: https://kuccps.net/
- Click on the Student’s Portal link or go directly to https://students.kuccps.net/login/
- Log in using:
- KCSE Index Number
- KCSE Exam Year (e.g., 2024)
- Password: Either your KCPE index number or your birth certificate number
- Once logged in, your placement details will appear, including the institution and the course you’ve been admitted to.
Checking via SMS
- Open your phone’s messaging app
- Type your KCSE index number, beginning with the year (e.g., 20241234567890) — no spaces
- Send the message to 20842
- You will receive an SMS reply showing your placement details, including the institution and programme.
KUCCPS has advised students to confirm their placements early and prepare to report to their assigned institutions in line with upcoming admission dates.
