The Head of Pubic Service Dr Felix Kosgey has denied any relationship nor ever meeting with the Jipe Inc. director Ms. Mary Wachuka Maina mentioned in a controversial story suggesting Government was out to procure an digital spy system towards its citizens.

In a tough response to the story in The Daily Nation today, Dr Koskei said neither Ms Wachuka nor Jipe Inc was known to him.

“Ms Mary Wachuka Maina and /or Jipe Inc. are strangers to me. The story itself acknowledges that the only time I was purportedly to meet Ms Wachuka the meeting never took place,” he explained in a letter released to the press today.

He distanced himself from any knowledge of a procurement of such a software by the government.
“I take great exception to the use of my name and photo in this misleading report,” he said adding that no effort was made to reach him before the story was published.

“No effort was made to contact me for my response before publishing this defamatory and baseless claim,” he disclosed.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the story saying this omission is not only irresponsible but also appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.

“I therefore, demand an immediate retraction of this story and and a public apology from the Daily Nation. Failure to this demand will leave me with no option but to pursue legal redress to protect the name, stature and image of this office,” concluded the statement.
