President William Ruto has expressed his condolences following the passing of Pastor Raphael Obego, describing him as a “dedicated servant of the Lord” and a “prayer warrior.”

Pastor Obego, a well-known spiritual leader in Homa Bay County, was celebrated for his devotion to his faith and the impact of his Ministry. Pastor Raphael Raphael died on Wednesday November 6th 2024.

In a statement, President Ruto paid tribute to the late pastor’s uplifting spirit, noting his sermons as both “provoking and evocative” and lauding them for their authenticity and clarity.

“Pastor Raphael Obego was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a prayer warrior,” President Ruto said. “He was a light-hearted faith leader whose sermons were not only provoking and evocative but also clear and authentic.”

The president extended his prayers and heartfelt sympathies to the Obego family and Pastor Obego’s congregation, acknowledging the depth of the loss for those closest to him and the larger Homa Bay community.

“Our prayers are with the Obego family and his congregation in Homa Bay County at this difficult time. Rest in Peace,” the president concluded.

Governor Gladys Wanga also remembered Pastor Obego as a dedicated leader whose guidance touched many lives.

“Today, we are devastated by the passing of our dear friend and County Principal Chaplain Pastor Raphael Obengo. Pastor Raphael touched our lives with his compassion, guidance, unwavering faith and positivity. His dedication to serving the county Government and people of Homa Bay will forever be remembered.” Governor Gladys Wanga remarked.
