The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has released Ksh 3.52 billion for the April 2025 disbursement of the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Programme.

According to Principal Secretary for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, Joseph Motari, the funds will benefit 1,760,510 vulnerable Kenyans enrolled in the programme.

“The Ministry has disbursed Ksh 3,521,020,000 for payment to 1,760,510 beneficiaries enrolled in the Inua Jamii Program,” Motari said in a statement.

He noted that the programme remains central to the government’s social protection agenda, targeting the elderly aged 70 and above, orphans and vulnerable children, and persons with severe disabilities.

Motari emphasised that the initiative aims to cushion the most vulnerable from poverty and hunger while enhancing their quality of life.

The Ministry also confirmed that beneficiaries will continue receiving their stipends via M-Pesa, a shift aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility, and security.

Those without active M-Pesa lines are encouraged to register at any Safaricom or M-Pesa agent, eliminating the need to travel long distances, contrary to earlier reports.
