The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced 10,000 job opportunities for Kenyans interested in working in Dubai’s construction industry.
In a notice on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua outlined that the positions are open to both skilled and unskilled workers, offering financial benefits, improved living conditions, and professional growth.
Job Positions Available
The available roles include:
- Steel fixers
- Masons
- Scaffolders
- Carpenters
- Waterproofing technicians
- General workers
Recruitment Process and Salary
Mutua announced that recruitment will take place at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic in Mombasa on January 3 and 4, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Successful candidates will receive on-the-spot offer letters during the recruitment exercise. Afterward, a three-day medical examination and visa processing will follow, with travel arrangements finalized shortly after.
The jobs offer tax-free salaries ranging from Ksh33,000 to Ksh60,000, along with free accommodation, transportation, food, and medical care while in Dubai.
Costs and Required Documents
Applicants are expected to cover their travel tickets, medical expenses, and minor processing fees. However, the Ministry has negotiated affordable rates to make the process accessible.
“To make this opportunity accessible, I have negotiated reduced and affordable costs. Successful candidates will cater for their tickets, medical, and minor processing fees,” said CS Mutua.
Candidates are advised to bring relevant certificates and documentation to the recruitment venue. Those without passports will benefit from expedited passport issuance, facilitated for successful applicants.
Applicants should also dress appropriately for any practical assessments that may be conducted during the recruitment process.
“This initiative aims to provide life-changing opportunities while contributing to Kenya’s workforce export strategy,” Mutua emphasized.
