Former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua has secured a new role as a show host on Obinna TV following his successful recovery after rehabilitation.

The offer was made during an interview on Monday, December 16, by Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna. Mbugua will officially begin his new position in January 2025.

“There is a show and a department that I would like you (Kimani) to spearhead. You have a job in January. We shall reconvene in mid-January or early February to see what is happening,” Obinna stated during the announcement.

Similarly, former NTV journalist Eunice Omollo is set to resume her career in journalism at K24 TV. According to former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who shared the news in a statement on Tuesday, November 17, Omollo’s new role marks a major milestone in her recovery journey. However, her exact position at K24 TV remains undisclosed.

“Both Eunice and Mbugua are fully recovered and ready to face the world and begin a new life. Several months ago, their respective journeys were marked by serious struggles,” read Sonko’s statement in part.

In addition, Sonko revealed that Kenyan boxing icon Conjestina Achieng is set to be discharged from the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre this week after achieving full recovery.

Sonko expressed gratitude for the successful recoveries, thanking the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre for their efforts and dedication.

These milestones reflect the transformative power of care and support, with all three individuals now poised to rebuild their lives and inspire others with their resilience.
