DP Kindiki’s Botswana Visit: Details on His First International Assignment

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki departed for Botswana this morning, marking his first international assignment since assuming office as Kenya’s second-in-command.

Kindiki will represent President William Ruto at the inauguration of Botswana’s President-elect Duma Boko, who won last week’s elections.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday at the National Stadium in Gaborone, Botswana.

Kindiki was accompanied by a high-ranking delegation that included Senators Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) and Eddy Oketch (Migori) along with National Assembly members Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), John Njuguna Kawanjiku (Kiambaa), Victor Koech (Chepalungu), and Elisha Odhiambo (Gem).

“Left the Country this morning for Gaborone, Botswana, to represent President William Samoei Ruto at the swearing in and inauguration ceremony of His Excellency Duma Boko as President of the Republic of Botswana.” DP Kindiki said.

“Accompanied by Senators Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) and Eddy Oketch (Migori) and National Assembly Members; Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), John Njuguna Kawanjiku (Kiambaa), Victor Koech (Chepalungu), and Elisha Odhiambo (Gem).” Kindiki added.

Speaking on Thursday, Kindiki stated that it is an honour for him serve in the new position and promised to assist President Ruto in implementing his agenda to Kenyans.

“It is an honour to serve my Country as such a time as this when Kenya is moving forward and rising upwards to the height that our forefathers envisaged when they fought for the establishment of our Republic.

“As I assume the functions of the esteemed office of the Deputy President of Kenya, I pledge to support and assist President Ruto to canvass, defend and accelerate the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA) on which his administration was elected two years ago,” Kindiki stated.
