DP Kindiki named UDA deputy party leader

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has appointed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as its new deputy party leader, following an official decision made by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Monday.

Kindiki was designated on Monday, during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party.

“The National Executive Committee, by virtue of the recognition of the National Assembly and the vote of the Senate, and by operation of Article 75(3) and 147(7) of the Constitution of Kenya, along with Article 8.2.19 of the UDA party constitution, has resolved to designate His Excellency Professor Kithure Kindiki as the deputy party leader of the United Democratic Alliance, effective immediately,” Read part of statement by UDA national executive committee.

The decision follows the recent impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who had also served as UDA’s deputy party leader until his removal.

Kindiki pledged to support President William Ruto in advancing UDA’s agenda for Kenya.

“I will do the job I have been given by the party to help the President achieve the agenda of the party and all members,” he affirmed.
