Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has revealed 10,000 job opportunities in Dubai’s construction sector for eligible Kenyans.

In a statement on Monday, December 16, Mutua announced that the vacancies include positions for steel fixers, masons, scaffolders, carpenters, waterproofing technicians, and general workers.

“The construction sector in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking 10,000+ skilled and unskilled Kenyans to join its workforce,” Mutua stated.

Recruitment Schedule

The recruitment exercise will take place at the following locations and dates:

  • Kabete National Polytechnic: Wednesday, December 18, and Thursday, December 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Nyeri National Polytechnic: Friday, December 20, and Saturday, December 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Kenya Coast National Polytechnic: Monday, December 23, and Tuesday, December 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Application Requirements

Interested candidates must carry their certificates and any relevant documentation and dress appropriately for practical assessments.

Mutua clarified that applicants do not need passports at the time of application, as successful candidates will be facilitated with expedited passport processing.

Selection and Processing

Successful candidates will receive on-the-spot offer letters. After completing a three-day medical and processing period, they will be issued visas.

However, candidates will be required to cover costs for tickets, medical exams, and minor processing fees. Travel arrangements are expected to be finalized within days of receiving the visas.

Salary and Benefits

The job offers come with a tax-free salary ranging from Ksh 33,000 to Ksh 60,000. Additionally, successful candidates will receive free accommodation, transport, food, and medical care.
