A statement on the club’s official portal welcomed the new signing: “We welcome Shilwatso Musungu to Beşiktaş. We wish her great success as she embarks on this exciting new chapter with our team, wearing the proud Beşiktaş jersey.”
By joining Besiktas, Shilwatso becomes the second Kenyan player to represent the club, following in the footsteps of Esse Akida. Akida played for Besiktas in 2019, making two appearances before the season was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shilwatso’s signing also highlights her diverse international experience, which includes stints in Spain with DUX Logroño and in Tanzania with Fountain Gate Princess. Her versatility and goal-scoring prowess make her a valuable addition to Besiktas.

Shilwatso is set to make her league debut this Sunday when Besiktas, coached by Mesut Kır, face arch-rivals Fenerbahçe in an away fixture. Expectations are high as fans anticipate her contribution to the team’s campaign in the Turkish Women’s First League.
