The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has advertised 38 job openings for security wardens to be deployed at Parliament Buildings and its surrounding premises.
In a notice issued on Monday, July 1, PSC invited interested and qualified applicants to submit their applications no later than July 15, 2025.
Responsibilities
According to the notice, the security wardens will be tasked with operating and managing critical security equipment, including X-ray scanners, walk-through metal detectors, underbelly cameras, CCTV monitors, and bomb detectors, to detect and deter criminal activity within the parliamentary precincts.
The officers will also be responsible for:
- Controlling pedestrian and vehicle access at the gates
- Screening, vetting, and clearing visitors to ensure only authorized individuals access Parliament
- Conducting physical searches on vehicles and persons entering or exiting the premises
- Maintaining the Occurrence Book and other security records for investigative reference
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of D+
- Have served in a uniformed service (such as the military, police, or prison service) for at least three years
- For direct appointment, candidates must have completed parliamentary training within their previous service

- A cover letter
- Copies of academic certificates and other relevant testimonials
The application form can be downloaded from the Parliamentary Service Commission’s website or collected from the Office of the Head of the Commission Secretariat at Parliament Buildings.
Completed applications may be hand-delivered to the secretariat office or sent via email, as provided in the notice.
The PSC urged all applicants to ensure their submissions are complete and timely, warning that late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
