The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has unveiled a six-month free training program targeting Kenyan youth who have completed the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

In a statement on Tuesday, March 11, KeNHA explained that the initiative aims to equip unemployed youth with practical skills to enhance their employability and economic prospects.

“The objective of the program is to support capacity development during the project period, enabling unemployed youth to acquire skills that will help them secure meaningful work,” KeNHA stated.

The training will be conducted at Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP), Mazeras Youth Polytechnic (MYP), and Mariakani Vocational Training Centre (MVTC).

Mariakani Vocational Training Centre (MVTC):

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Have at least a KCPE certificate with no formal training at diploma level or above
  • Be able to read and write
  • Be residents of Jomvu, Kinango, Kaloleni, and Rabai

KeNHA will prioritize applications from orphans, youth from single-parent households, young single mothers, persons living with disabilities, low-income families, and those residing in informal settlements.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Full tuition and examination fees
  • All required learning materials
  • A monthly stipend for upkeep

How to Apply

Interested candidates can download application forms from the KeNHA website or collect hard copies from KeNHA Coast Regional Offices in Mombasa.

All applications must be stamped by the Area Chief or Assistant County Commissioner to verify residency.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
