For many residents, the issuance of title deeds marks a pivotal step in securing land ownership after decades of waiting. Since 1987, locals have anticipated these vital documents, and the recent distribution of 2,162 title deeds has been celebrated as a monumental achievement. Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi underscored the significance of securing land tenure, emphasizing its role in fostering economic growth, reducing poverty, and promoting social stability. “This initiative reflects our firm commitment to empowering citizens by ensuring secure land ownership, which is essential for sustainable development,” Wandayi stated.

The Cabinet Secretary also highlighted the government’s broader efforts to reform the land sector.
