Kiogora takes over from Nellie Munala, who retired on August 30, 2024, after serving as CEO since 2015.
Prior to her new role, Kiogora was the acting CEO of the National Youth Council (NYC), a State agency under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, from August 2023 to October 2024. During her tenure at NYC, she focused on empowering youth and promoting their active participation in socio-economic activities.
Under Kiogora’s leadership, the NYC successfully hosted the Youth Connekt Africa Summit in Nairobi in December 2023, which saw over 20,000 young delegates from more than 40 countries. She also played a significant role in implementing NYC’s Strategic Plan in April 2024 and coordinated the International Youth Week celebrations for 2023 and 2024.
In her efforts to shape youth policies, Kiogora developed comprehensive youth development frameworks for 27 counties through the Kenya Youth Development Policies (KYD). She also led the International Youth Day 2024 celebrations, organizing “kikao” discussion sessions that reached over 1,000 young individuals across various regions of Kenya, including Mombasa, Eldoret, Isiolo, and Murang’a.
Kiogora holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources from the United States International University—Africa.
The President’s Award-Kenya, launched in 1966, is a member of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. The program recognizes and celebrates the achievements of young people aged 14 to 24 years outside of academia.
