Maanzo, Murango Top List of Most Performing Senators

Date:

The latest Infotrak survey has ranked Makueni Senator Hon. Daniel Maanzo and Kirinyaga Senator Hon. Kamau Murango as the top-performing Senators in Kenya, both securing a 52% approval rating. The report, which assesses legislative performance, service delivery, and constituency engagement, highlights the Senators who have demonstrated significant impact in their respective counties.

Murang’a Senator Hon. Joe Nyutu and Busia Senator Hon. Okiyah Omtatah closely follow with 50% ratings. Meanwhile, Nyandarua’s Hon. John Methu and Kisii’s Hon. Richard Onyonka both scored 49%, placing them among the most effective lawmakers in the Senate.

Other notable mentions include Kitui’s Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua and Vihiga’s Hon. Godfrey Osotsi, each receiving a 48% rating, while Hon. Joseph Githuku (Lamu), Hon. Aaron Kipkirui Cheruiyot (Kericho), and Hon. Prof. Tom Ojienda (Kisumu) all scored 47%.

Senators Samson Cherargei (Nandi) and Karungo Thangwa (Kiambu) secured 46%, with Kilifi’s Hon. Stewart Madzayo, Homa Bay’s Hon. Moses Otieno Kajwang, Kakamega’s Hon. Dr. Boni Khalwale, and Nairobi’s Hon. Edwin Sifuna each earning 45% approval.

The Infotrak survey, released as part of an annual performance review, evaluates Senators based on their legislative contributions, advocacy for county development, and responsiveness to citizen concerns. With the rankings now public, the report provides a crucial accountability measure for lawmakers, guiding voters in assessing their representatives’ effectiveness.

Analysts suggest that the results may influence political dynamics as voters become more performance-conscious ahead of future elections. The rankings also serve as a challenge for other Senators to enhance their service delivery and push for policies that directly benefit their counties.

With governance and leadership at the forefront of national discussions, these findings highlight the Senators making the most impact in their roles.
