We Look Forward to Deepening Our Collaboration – Ruto Congratulates Trump

Date:

President William Ruto has congratulated Donald Trump on his projected win as the 47th President of the United States, following a closely contested race against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

In a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, November 6, Ruto expressed optimism about strengthening Kenya-U.S. relations under Trump’s leadership.

“Your victory is a testament to the firm resolve of the American people to repose confidence in your visionary, bold, and innovative leadership,” Ruto stated, adding that Kenya is eager to advance cooperation on shared interests, including trade, investment, technology, peace, security, and sustainable development.

President Ruto emphasized the importance of the long-standing partnership between Kenya and the United States, which has endured for over 60 years. “Kenya values its longstanding partnership with the United States spanning over sixty years, grounded in our shared values of democracy, development, and mutual respect,” he said. Ruto further highlighted Kenya’s interest in working with the U.S. to address global challenges, promote peace and security, and foster inclusive economic growth.

President Ruto expressed hope that Trump’s presidency would bring continued progress and unity to the U.S. while enhancing the bond between the two nations. “Congratulations once again Mr. President-Elect, and may your tenure bring continued progress and unity to the United States of America and strengthen the bonds between our two great nations,” he concluded.

Trump, the Republican candidate, is projected to have secured the necessary 270 Electoral College votes, setting the stage for his second term after his initial tenure from 2017 to 2021. His campaign’s focus on pivotal swing states proved successful, with victories in battlegrounds such as Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania reportedly providing the margin needed to return to the White House.

The renewed U.S.-Kenya partnership under Trump’s leadership is expected to focus on reinforcing economic ties, advancing technology and innovation, and addressing security concerns across the globe.
