Nigerian singer Burna Boy

Excitement is building ahead of the MadfunXperience concert featuring Grammy award-winning star Burna Boy, with organisers and security teams assuring attendees of a well-coordinated and safe event.

Scheduled for March 1, 2025, at Uhuru Gardens, the concert promises electrifying performances alongside enhanced security measures.

Following past security challenges at major concerts in Nairobi, organisers have prioritised crowd control and safety protocols.

Speaking at a press briefing in Nairobi, Regional Sub-County Police Commander Monica Kimani confirmed that comprehensive security arrangements have been made.

“We are fully prepared to cover the event. Lessons from previous concerts have helped us refine our strategies. We have increased both uniformed and undercover officers inside and outside the venue,” said Kimani.

Security will also extend to hotels accommodating artists and VIP guests, while traffic management will be prioritised to ensure smooth entry and exit from the venue.

Kimani urged event organisers to engage security agencies early in the planning stages for seamless coordination.

“We are committed to maintaining law and order. Early collaboration ensures we provide the best security solutions,” she added.

Star-Studded Line-Up

The highly anticipated concert will feature Burna Boy alongside Kenyan Afro-pop star Charisma, soulful sensation Bensoul, and South African Amapiano DJ and producer Virgo Dee. More artists are expected to be unveiled before the event.

This marks Burna Boy’s return to Kenya after eight years. Unlike his last Nairobi performance, the Nigerian superstar will be accompanied by his full 40-member band, The Outsiders, known for their precision in delivering his signature sound.
