Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Patrick Korir has resigned from his position, as confirmed by FKF President Hussein Mohammed.

Korir’s resignation comes after just four months in the role, following his appointment in October 2024 as an interim replacement for Barry Otieno, who stepped down to pursue a presidential bid in the December 2024 elections.

It remains unclear whether Korir will also step down from his position on the 2024 CHAN Local Organizing Committee, where he served as a member.

An ICT expert by training, Korir has a long-standing involvement in football. He founded Futaa.com, one of Kenya’s first dedicated football websites, which covered local football extensively for over a decade. He later launched another football platform, Soka.co.ke, before moving into football management. Korir previously served as the CEO of Nairobi City Stars before taking on the FKF role last year.

The federation has yet to announce a replacement for Korir. However, Bob Collins Otieno, a human resource expert, and Harold Ndege, a former Kenyan international now working with the Kenya Revenue Authority, are among the top contenders for the influential CEO position.
