Outspoken Kileleshwa ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has taken a swipe at impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, over his political fate in a Tuesday morning tweet that has elicited mixed reactions online.
According to the blogger cum politician, anyone who takes the former second head of state seriously misplaced and lost. Alai was responding to Gachagua’s sentiments during a live radio interview where Gachagua maintained that he has never lost any election sending a warning to his political rivals that they should brace themselves for a rough battle in the upcoming 2027 general polls.
Taking to his social media handles, Alai argued that Gachagua’s fate of being impeached and losing the impeachment motion against him is already a sign of losing.
“Gachagua has not been on the losing side? He has just not lost an impeachment?. Anyone who takes this joker seriously is lost.” Alai argued.
The tweet, filled with sarcasm, appeared to mock Gachagua’s supporters who have downplayed the political downfall of the deputy president. The former DP was impeached after a Senate vote upheld charges of corruption, abuse of office, and incitement of ethnic divisions.
Alai’s statement adds to the growing political debate in Kenya as politicians and citizens alike react to the unprecedented removal of a deputy president. Whether Gachagua will make a political comeback remains uncertain, but for now, his critics, like Alai, are making their stance clear.
