Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wambumbi has come out to publicly reaffirm his full support for President William Ruto and his government amid the ongoing perceived split in Kenya Kwanza government following Ruto’s plan to reshuffle his administration to accommodate his political rivals and form a broad-based government. While speaking in at Ollessos polytechnic, Nandi County on Friday 31st, the youthful lawmaker who had accompanied Deputy President Kithure Kindiki declared that he is personally sticking with the head of state to the end and so are majority of the residents in the Mt Kenya region.
“Let us support our government. I am from Mathira and I will stick with President William Ruto whether they like it or not because he is a leader who unites all people. He is not tribal, and we are many in the mountain supporting William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki. This is time to work, let us work and when the time for politics comes, we will face each other.” Wamumbi said during the graduation ceremony held at the institution.
The legislator’s declaration is set to sparked varied political reactions since he is the constituency representative for former impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who was replaced by the incumbent DP Kithure Kindiki. His decision to side with Ruto, however, signals a potential shift in political dynamics, raising questions about his future alignment within the broader political landscape.
