A deep sense of loss swept through the media fraternity as family, friends, and colleagues joined radio presenter Lion Deh to lay his beloved son, Master Lion-man, to rest. The tragic incident followed a minor accident that proved fatal.
According to the family, the child was rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident, where medics made every effort to save his life, but their attempts were in vain.
The funeral service was held over the weekend at their ancestral home in Eshiongo village, Khwisero, Kakamega County. Loved ones, relatives, and media industry peers came together to pay their last respects and offer support during the difficult time.
In a moving tribute, the family described the child as “a God-sent angel with a golden soul” and expressed their immense grief. “We miss him every day. The pain his death caused our family is immeasurable,” read part of the tribute.
Reggae Festival to Honor His Memory
In the wake of the tragedy, the Hakuna Mbrrcha entertainment unit, led by the dynamic duo Mbusi and Lion, announced plans to host an annual reggae festival in memory of the late Master Lion-man.
Mbusi, the child’s godfather, spoke during the funeral, highlighting the significance of the event. “Losing a child is one of the deepest pains. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lion Deh, his family, and all those mourning this tragic loss,” he said.
The annual festival, according to Mbusi, will serve not only as a tribute but also as a means to help the grieving family heal. “This will go a long way in helping the family cope and find solace after the untimely demise of their son,” he added.
Master Lion-man, who was only 15 months old, left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
