The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has opened teaching opportunities for Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), targeting primary school teachers interested in transitioning to JSS roles.
In a notice issued on Monday, January 13, TSC outlined the requirements and application process for interested candidates.
Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a primary school teacher currently employed by TSC.
- Have achieved the following minimum grades in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE):
- A mean grade of C+.
- A minimum grade of C+ in each of the two teaching subjects or an equivalent qualification.
“Requirements include a minimum mean grade of C+ at KCSE and a minimum grade of C+ in each of the two teaching subjects or its equivalent,” the notice stated.
How to Apply
Eligible teachers who meet the qualifications are required to submit their applications online through the TSC platform at https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/tsc-teacher/login.
TSC advised that only teachers serving under Permanent and Pensionable (P&P) terms in public primary schools are encouraged to apply.
Applicants will need to provide their TSC numbers and national ID numbers during the online application process.
