Babies born in 2025, and for the 14 years following, will form the newest generational cohort: Generation Beta. These individuals will explore digital landscapes beyond our current imagination and likely witness the dawn of the 22nd century.

Members of Gen Beta will be the children of younger millennials and older Gen Zers. By 2035, they are projected to make up at least 16% of the global population, according to McCrindle, an Australian social research firm led by generational analyst Mark McCrindle.

Many Gen Beta members are expected to live into the 22nd century, with babies born in 2025 reaching 76 years old by 2101.

What to Know About Generation Beta

Gen Beta will include individuals born between 2025 and 2039, according to McCrindle.

The name Generation Beta follows Generation Alpha, maintaining the sequence of the Greek alphabet.

How Will Technology Shape Gen Beta?

McCrindle predicts that digital and physical life will become seamless for Generation Beta. While Gen Alpha grew up with smart technology and artificial intelligence, Gen Beta will experience AI and automation integrated into every aspect of their lives, including education, work, healthcare, and entertainment.

However, Gen Z parents are likely to take a cautious approach to their children’s interaction with the digital world. McCrindle reports that 36% of Gen Z parents, compared to 30% of millennial parents, strongly agree that children’s screen time should be limited.

Beyond technology, Gen Beta will face challenges like climate change, global population shifts, and rapid urbanization. However, they will also benefit from the guidance of eco-conscious millennial and Gen Z parents who prioritize adaptability and sustainability.

According to the Pew Research Center, 71% of millennials and 67% of Gen Zers believe climate change should be a top priority for ensuring a sustainable planet.
