DCI Arrests Motorshop E.A. Ltd Director Over Fraud Allegations
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Meshack Kipleting Tarbei, the Director of Motorshop East Africa Ltd., in connection with multiple fraudulent schemes.
In a statement released on Thursday, January 2, the DCI revealed that Tarbei had been on the run for over a year after allegedly defrauding several unsuspecting victims.
According to the statement, the suspect shut down his shop at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road and disappeared after nine victims reported him to Kilimani Police Station.
“Detectives from DCI Kilimani have arrested Meshack Kipleting Tarbei, a serial fraudster and Director of Motorshop E.A. Ltd., who has been evading capture for over a year after fleecing unsuspecting members of the public of their hard-earned money,” the DCI stated.
“Kipleting, whose office was located at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road, closed shop and went into hiding after nine victims reported his unlawful acts at Kilimani Police Station,” the statement added.
Arrest at Rongai Hideout
Tarbei was apprehended at his hideout in King Serenity Estate, Rongai. He was taken into custody at the DCI Kilimani offices, where he is being processed ahead of his arraignment.
“Upon receiving the complaints, detectives sprang into action and smoked out the suspect from his hideout at King Serenity Estate in Rongai. He was escorted to DCI Kilimani offices for processing pending arraignment,” the DCI confirmed.
Further Investigations Underway
The DCI indicated that they are consolidating reports from other police stations across Nairobi, as they suspect additional victims may have filed complaints against Tarbei. The aim is to ensure justice for all affected.
