Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that 2025 will mark a turning point in the Kenya Kwanza administration’s transformational agenda, as the country begins to experience the impact of its strategic interventions.
Kindiki noted that deliberate measures implemented by President William Ruto’s administration over the past two years have fostered steady macroeconomic recovery.
“This is the year that the hard and difficult task of transforming our country will start yielding returns,” he said.
Kindiki highlighted the government’s progress in key areas, stating that by the end of 2025, the ambitious Universal Health Coverage program, Taifa Care, and ongoing education reforms will significantly reduce out-of-pocket expenses for households.
“These efforts will leave households with more disposable income,” he explained.
The Deputy President also outlined recent achievements, including a strengthened Kenyan shilling, declining inflation and interest rates, and progressively reducing prices of fuel and essential household commodities.
In 2025, the government’s focus will shift toward accelerating interventions for microeconomic recovery, job creation, and enhancing household incomes.
“Reforms will target key value chains in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and the blue economy,” Kindiki said, adding that projects such as affordable housing, special economic zones, modern markets, ICT hubs, and County Aggregation and Industrial Parks will stimulate economic growth and increase per capita income.
Kindiki also used the New Year as an opportunity to rally Kenyans to focus on building the nation.
“The beginning of the year provides all of us with the opportunity to renew our collective focus on Project Kenya,” he stated.
He urged every citizen to rise to the occasion, work harder, and contribute to the vision of a cohesive nation free from fear and want.
“This renewed effort will expedite the realization of our country’s aspirations and create a better future for all,” he added.
The Deputy President’s remarks come as the Kenya Kwanza administration works to fulfill its promise of economic transformation and improved livelihoods for Kenyans.
