Kirinyaga Nominated MCA Lucy njeri has taken to social media with an emotional outburst, claiming their daughter was a victim of betrayal and murder involving individuals she trusted as friends.
In a post shared on November 19, the distraught parent expressed shock and heartbreak over the alleged role of her daughter’s acquaintances in her tragic death.
According to the statement, the daughter, described as a sociable and open-minded person, unknowingly welcomed individuals with ill intentions into her life.
“Where did you get such friends?” the parent lamented. “I knew you loved making friends of all types, regardless of tribe, race, or status. But where did these two come from? The one time they came home, they were spies.”
The parent claimed their hospitality was taken advantage of by these individuals, with the daughter allegedly falling victim to a scheme that has left the family in anguish. The post further alleged that one of the accused individuals is connected to the person who carried out the murder.
“The one behind this is the girlfriend of the killer,” the statement read. “I will not be silenced. I will tell the story as it is.”
Lucy Njeri vowed to reveal details of the case in a series of daily updates, asserting that their daughter, now deceased, should not be accused or victimized.
“Come for me too if anyone feels aggrieved by this post. I am ready to die for justice,” she wrote.
The post named four individuals allegedly involved in the case, including the alleged perpetrator.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions, with many urging authorities to investigate the claims thoroughly. In their post, the parent accused some of the individuals of being complicit in the crime, vowing to expose what they described as a web of deceit and betrayal.
“I will expose all of you. Let the world know what many people have feared to expose,” they declared.
In her exposé, Njeri named:
Phoebe Mwende Njue (allegedly the girlfriend of the suspected killer)Elsie Gatwiri (acquaintance)Cynthia Ngahu (acquaintance) Ken Kimathi Gichunuku (alleged murderer)
The MCA, clearly distressed, called for justice for her daughter, stating her willingness to risk her life to expose the truth.
“Come for me too if anyone feels aggrieved by this post. I am ready to die for the sake of the poor and voiceless,” she declared.
Njeri’s statement has sparked widespread attention, with many Kenyans demanding a thorough investigation into Nyakio’s death.

She described an incident where two of Nyakio’s friends visited their home, portraying themselves as genuine companions while allegedly acting as spies.
“The way you cooked for them genuinely and trusted, and I even gave her fare. Oh my God, our goodness and kindness… but they turned out to be spies,” the emotional statement read.
She identified the individuals she believes are connected to the case, naming them publicly in her post. According to Njeri, one of the individuals is a girlfriend of the alleged killer.
“I will not be silenced. I will tell the story as it is, lest my daughter becomes the accused and victimized even in her grave,” Njeri wrote, adding that she was prepared to face any consequences for speaking out.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) last week identified Ken Kimathi Gichunuku, also known as Sultan, as the main suspect in the murder of Seth Nyakio, daughter of Kirinyaga County Assembly Nominated MCA Lucy Njeri.
In an update on Thursday, November 14, the DCI reported that Gichunuku went into hiding after allegedly killing Nyakio, whose body was discovered in a friend’s residence in Biafra, Thika township. The DCI described Gichunuku as dangerous, noting he has a criminal history, including previous threats to kill.
“Notably, Gichunuku has a criminal record of threatening to kill, as evidenced in a court case dated September 25, 2024, and detectives consider him dangerous to anyone he believes might expose him,” the DCI stated.
The agency appealed to the public for any information on Gichunuku’s whereabouts, urging anyone with knowledge of his location to call their toll-free hotline at 0800 722 203 or report anonymously at any police station.
Nyakio, a Zetech University graduate, was found dead on October 14, 2024, with initial police investigations indicating that she may have been strangled.

Lucy Njeri, the mother of the late Seth Nyakio, described the tragic discovery of her daughter’s body, revealing the visible injuries on her neck.
“I saw visible injuries on the neck. My daughter lay peacefully, and you could even think we were talking to each other because the spirit had not departed from me. And she was the one,” Njeri told the media.
According to Njeri, her daughter disappeared on October 12, 2024, after leaving her home in Kamakis to visit a friend in Thika township. The nominated MCA attempted to contact her daughter the following day but received no response. On October 14, 2024, she received a devastating phone call informing her of her daughter’s death.
“It was murder and so many other shocking things that no parent would have liked to experience—the pain my daughter died with and the trauma and shock I have been left with. I loved her so much. For now, I don’t have any child. I had only her,” Njeri expressed.
