The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has set September 20, 2025, as the date for its party nominations ahead of the upcoming by-elections.

In a statement on Thursday, August 14, UDA National Elections Board Chairman Anthony Mwaura invited interested aspirants to register through the party’s online portal, with the application window open from August 14 to September 5 at 5:00 p.m.

Mwaura outlined the non-refundable nomination fees, with Members of County Assembly (MCA) aspirants paying Ksh50,000 for male candidates and Ksh25,000 for women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWD). For Members of Parliament (MP) and Senate seats, male aspirants will pay Ksh250,000, while women, youth, and PWD will be charged Ksh125,000.

The party will field candidates in multiple by-elections across the country. These include six National Assembly seats — Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbere North, and Ugunja constituencies — and the Senate seat for Baringo County.

In County Assembly races, UDA will present candidates in 16 wards, including Kariobangi North (Nairobi), Kisa East (Kakamega), Angata Nanyokie (Samburu), Chemundu/Kapng’etuny (Nandi), and Lake Zone (Turkana), among others.

The nominations come shortly after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) confirmed that all by-elections will be held on November 27, 2025. The electoral body issued the first gazette notice on August 8 for the 16 MCA seats and the second on August 11 for the Senate and National Assembly races.
